FLAC is governed by a National Council. Day-to-day operations are carried out by our Chief Executive and Staff. Our work is invaluably supported by a large network of volunteers from the legal profession.

Governance and Legal Structure

Free Legal Advice Centres (FLAC) is a company limited by guarantee (Company Reg. no. 49413) and is recognised by the Revenue Commissioners for charitable purposes (CHY No. 6097).

FLAC is an independent law centre under the terms of the Solicitors Acts 1954-2002 (Independent Law Centres) Regulations 2006, SI 103/2006.

FLAC is governed by its National Council/Board of Directors and the day to day operations of the organisation are carried out by its Chief Executive.

FLAC declared compliance with the Charities Governance Code in October 2021. FLAC is committed to adhering to the Guidelines for Charitable Organisations on Fundraising from the Public. View our fundraising principles.
