FIDH and one other organisation filed the complaint in October 2011. The complaint contained allegations that the company supplied Gaddafi’s regime with a surveillance system intended to monitor communications of the Libyan population. This equipment is alleged to have provided the technology necessary to enable the Libyan regime to identify, arrest and subsequently torture opponents of the regime.

This inquiry, which has great relevance for the issue of criminal responsibility of companies for human rights violations, will be made by a specialised war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide unit within the Paris Tribunal.
