Drawn from a longer report which can be found here, the case studies and briefs cover the work of Atlantic’s grantees between 2004 and 2014. The resource provides background about the litigation pursued by grantees or the different ways in which they used the law. The reports offer lessons that can be useful to other funders and grantees.
The case studies cover the Free Legal Advice Centres’ (FLAC) work on the pursuit of legal recognition for people who are transgender. Case studies have also been submitted by the Children’s Law Centre and the Law Centre for Northern Ireland.
The briefs are on the subjects of community-based litigation and law reform, litigation under European law, pro bono networks and building capacity and early legal advice and representation.
